Calvin Symonds, born on Bermuda on 29th March 1932, made his debut for Rochdale FC on 15th September 1955 and thus became their first Black player.
Calvin has celebrated his 94th birthday back on Bermuda where he is best known as an outstanding cricketer, but we celebrate him he as the oldest of the footballing pioneers who featured in our book. We wish him many happy returns.
